Crushing the Curse of Procrastination: Why Perfect Isn't the Goal

Welcome to "Formally Known As The Procrastinating Perfectionist" newsletter

After falling short at almost everything and going through a series of deliverance I realized something --- my struggles with perfectionism is connected to the curse of backsliding. You may be able to relate and that's why I've created this space. Now you're probably wondering ---What is backsliding?

It is the act of falling back from good ways and back into old bad ways of living. The dictionary defines it as "relapsing into bad habits, sinful behavior or undesirable activities". Biblically, a backslider is someone who turns away from follow God to serve other gods and go back into a life of sin. Check out Exodus 32 for the deets on how the nation of Israel backslid on their way to the Promised Land.

Backsliding for some of us looks like overeating, smoking, premarital sex, not praying, avoiding reading the Bible and more.

I've personally experienced many forms of backsliding and I noticed that the rotten fruit of it in my life is procrastinating. It is the state of acting against your better judgment. It is when you do one thing even though you know you should do something else. A sure way to backslide out of the blessings of the Lord and right into the enemies hand.

Now this force of not following up on what I'm supposed to do has wrecked many parts of my life and I've grown tired of it. So I've committed to doing exactly what God told me to do, big and small. The new task at hand is this daily newsletter to share my messy journey.

I'll be sharing revelations and actionable strategies that I use in my everyday life, which you can apply to yours. Fair warning: I'll be publishing these at the top of the morning so it won't be perfect—expect a few typos and grammatical errors along the way!

Why join? Think of it as your personal cheer squad, cheering you on to break out of the cycle of procrastinating.

We will be crushing the curse of procrastination on my playground. Get ready to let go of being in total control and be led by the almighty strategist, God.

We will be taking this one imperfect step at a time.
