So, I've been working on this newsletter, right? But I wanted it to be absolutely perfect before I hit that publish button. I was waiting for that magic number of subscribers, the perfect verse, the right mood, and to know exactly what I wanted to say. Talk about pressure, right? This morning, I woke up and had a real heart-to-heart with God. I confessed that I'm seriously exhausted from living out of faith. Can you believe that even something as simple as hitting send on an email has been crippling me for over a week? It's been a struggle, sis. But today, I made a decision. I decided that I have to change, and this newsletter is going to be my first step in the right direction. So here's what went down this morning... I started off by snoozing my 5 am alarms like it's nobody's business. Eventually, I rolled out of bed with all the intentions to hit the gym before 6 am. But it was a struggle just to find my purple headphones! Time was slipping away, and when I finally looked up, it was already 5:55 am and I hadn't even left the house. A hot mess! After all that chaos, I made it to the gym, but I was dragging my feet on that treadmill. And here's the kicker, I had to publish a reel for my church's social account by 7 am. Then, of course, I had to edit another reel for my personal account at 7:15 am. Time just keeps slipping away. As I stumbled through the beginning of my day, I couldn't help but reflect on the consequences of my procrastination. Being unprepared seriously weighed me down, and it took a toll on those first few hours. It was a wake-up call, girl. I had to make a decision—do I continue my day in this messy spirit or do I turn away from the chaos? So, I reached for my Bible app and found a verse I'd highlighted during my #10PageADayChallenge (I've been challenging myself to read or listen to 10 pages of the Bible daily!). It goes like this, "It would have been better for them to not have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed to them" (2 Peter 2:21). Let me tell you, that hit me hard. I had to admit that I know better, and I have to do better. Those small pockets of comfort ended up costing me big, leaving tasks uncompleted, delayed, and sitting in my drafts folder. So, today, I'm arming myself (and you too, Reader!) with this verse: "Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 1:10). Today, we're deciding to do things the right way from the get-go. We're reflecting on what we're doing wrong and correcting it immediately. That's how we practice repentance and grow, girl! Before we wrap this up, let's take a moment to pray: Dear El Roi (The God who sees me), bless your daughter Reader with the sight to see herself the way you see her. Give her the strength to conquer anything that comes her way. Let her feel your presence, knowing that you walk beside her every single day, supporting her as she answers the call you've placed on her life. Grant her grace as she works on breaking those stubborn habits so she can live peacefully in your ways. And open doors of opportunities in her life, showing her that when she works diligently to pursue you and do good works, she'll hear those amazing words: "Well done, my good and faithful servant" when it's time to stand in front of her Father. You got this, girl! Let's slay the day together! 💪💖✨ Have a great Monday! With purpose and intent, Ji'Brayah Chanai |

The day finally arrived for the release of Beyoncé's haircare brand, Cècred. If you remember, she had been teasing the launch of a hair brand since 2023 and even had a luxury influencer suite at some of her shows, complete with Cècred goodie bags for them to review and generate hype. However, as the anticipation for this launch built up, criticism about the brand's disconnect started to brew. The audience, primarily made up of black women and millennials with more modest lifestyles, didn't...
