Your Daily Devotional :
Formerly Known As The Procrastinating Perfectionist

Did you miss me? January has been dedicated to spiritual retreats in the mountains, where I focused on prayer, worship, and fasting. At the beginning of the month, I attended a weekend event with the Glory Invasion Ministry in Jasper, GA. During this event, I received a prophetic message for both myself and my daughter. I'll share some of the details with you shortly.

This following weekend, I joined 300 believers from Dominion City churches around the country, all gathered to spend time in the presence of the Lord. I went seeking deliverance from the spirit of poverty, which has lead to procrastination, delay, and disobedience in my life. After my deliverance, I unexpectedly felt sick and threw up, but it was a sign of purging anything unholy that may have been inside me. I felt much lighter afterward.

Amidst all of this, I also managed the social media account for my church, which presented a challenge in balancing my responsibilities. However, I discovered that ministry encompasses digital discipleship, and I learned that prioritizing time with God before ministering to others is crucial.

Throughout the 21-day fast, God provided me with a year's worth of instructions for 2024! Literally big and small goals:

  • applying for graduate school
  • selling the remaining physical copies of my book (funnel strategy)
  • committing daily to 5:20 am bible study and 8:30 pm prayer
  • launching a podcast with my daughter
  • planning a February event in Atlanta
  • creating a new edition to my book and pitching bulk sale to an university I am working with
  • attend étiquette certification training ($4k investment)
  • release a new edition of my book ↓

During my fast, God further clarified the first prophecy by revealing that I will release a new edition of my book, "When The Introvert Commands The Room: Launch Your Career With A Personal Brand That Stands Out From The Crowd." This updated edition will cover social and business etiquette, as I am incorporating etiquette coaching into my career. I am thrilled to embark on this new journey and invite you to join me.

Sometimes, seeking clear instructions from a business coach is helpful, but there's no one better than the Almighty Strategist. If you're feeling stuck or lost, I highly recommend a 24-hour water-only fast, accompanied by frequent prayers, African worship music, and Bible study. If you need guidance on how to start, simply reply to this email, and I will provide you with instructions.

Here's a few pointers I received to have righteous productivity:

  1. Routine: manage your time intentionally with a physical planner or digital calendar and time block your entire day. Even if you are reserving time to doom scroll on social media, add that time block to your calendar.
  2. Repetitive: Keep it simple. Try to schedule your activities at the same time every single day to build out a routine. Since we are routine creatures by habit, once we hone in on a schedule it becomes easier to repeat it.
  3. Embrace Rest and Sabbath: Did you know that even God took a break on the seventh day? He knew the importance of rest and rejuvenation. Don't underestimate the power of taking regular breaks and honoring the concept of Sabbath. Resting allows you to recharge your batteries, refocus your mind, and ultimately be more productive in the long run.
  4. Reset: I've found that fasting for 24-48 hours gives me the power to recalibrate and get back on track. Often times we are stubborn and follow the 5 senses of our flesh instead of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Becoming productive requires me to literally starve my flesh and distractions so I can hear from the Spirit clearly and obey God's instructions without questions.

If you are ready to build out your personal brand, I created a roadmap for those new to being the face of their brands and need help clarifying the foundations. Add your email here to receive a free download.

Let's close out in prayer:

Dear Abba, Pater (Father), bless your daughter Reader with the resources to complete the task you have place in front of her. She is committed to taking the first steps in faith, knowing that you will be there to open doors of opportunity going forward. This year she will plan for productivity, setting her primary goal in alignment with the Great Commission. She is committing 2024 and forward to righteousness and ask you to set her character on fire with the Holy Spirit. Lord your daughter stands in front of you with boldness and a commitment to take action each day while also honoring sabbath as you have called all of your children to rest. Let her experience your loving-kindness and know that you have steadfast love for her. Help her trust in the fact that Jesus Christ died for her sins and that God has saved her by HIS grace.

Grant her the grace she needs to break those stubborn habits so she can live peacefully in your ways. Reveal to her the assignment you have given her to fulfill the Great Commission. Show her during prayer that when she works diligently to pursue you and do good works, she'll hear those amazing words: "Well done, my good and faithful servant" when it's time to stand in front of her Father.
